Translations

For years I’ve studied Ancient Greek and Latin, among other languages. This work takes me to literature in the original language and translations, frustrating in their literal style. You see, the purpose of translations of ancient texts is to accurately reflect the grammar of the original language, often doing violence to the meaning, the spirit, and the artistry of the original.

Send me an email if you have some Latin or Ancient Greek you would like translated, or if you would like something in a modern language translated into Greek or Latin. I am happy to produce poetic meters for any of the languages.

In page’s submenu I’m including some samples of past translations.
